Maps shape our world. Humans want to turn our places into maps, to orient ourselves and make our way in the world. We make maps of the stars, of the ground, and the physical maps we create construct our experiences. As landscape architects our work always comes back to the map. The cycle of planet to paper and back again is slowly changing our physical world. Through Mapping: An exhibition, we look at how maps from the past have shaped our world, explore how to map the invisible, question the role of mapping, celebrate the art of mapping but also address new mapping conventions and how these processes change the dirt we walk on.
Mapping - An Exhibition ran for the first week of March in 2019. The exhibition played host to a series of peripheral events including a film screening, series of talks & debate.
